Our Story

To The Pointe-Shoe Store was founded in 2020 by Hannah Grimes, a certified pointe shoe fitter and former ballet dancer with a lifelong passion for the art of dance. Hannah has over 25 years of dance experience. With an undergraduate degree in finance and an MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hannah combined her business expertise and extensive ballet background to create a full-service dance boutique in Tupelo, MS.

After relocating to Tupelo for her husband’s career, Hannah continued teaching ballet and quickly recognized the need for a store that truly understood dancers’ needs—especially when it came to pointe shoes. That realization led to the creation of To The Pointe, a place where every dancer is treated with care, expertise, and a deep understanding of the artform.

Hannah is a certified pointe shoe fitter who personally conducts every fitting with precision and care. Drawing from over 25 years of dancing and teaching, as well as her own experience with a career-altering injury (caused by improperly fitted shoes) she brings a unique perspective to every dancer she works with. She not only ensures that each dancer leaves with a shoe that feels, fits, and functions correctly, but also goes over theraband and strengthening exercises to build foot and ankle stability. In every fitting, she takes time to teach dancers how to properly care for and extend the life of their pointe shoes, making safety and injury prevention the foundation of her process.

In addition to running her business, Hannah is active in the community. She serves as Treasurer for the United States Tennis Association CTA board, Production Chairman for Distinguished Young Women of Lee County, and Secretary of the Tupelo Women’s Club. She continues to teach ballet and serves as the accountant for her husband’s full-time tennis academy.

Our Mission:

To The Pointe-Shoe Store is a full service dance boutique specializing in pointe shoes in Tupelo, MS. To The Pointe also carries gymnastics and athletic apparel.

Our inventory includes dance brands such as Ballet Rosa, Bloch, Capezio, Danznmotion, Eurotard, Nikolay, Gaynor Minden, Lulli, R-Class, SoDanca, Reflectionz, Energetiks, Wear Moi, etc. in styles for toddlers through adults. Shoe selections for ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, musical theater, lyrical and beyond will be professionally fit by our trained team of current and former dancers. We pride ourselves on our product selection, informed and helpful staff, and passion for everything dance related!
