Pointe Shoe Fitting
What to Expect During a Pointe Shoe Fitting
At To The Pointe-Shoe Store, we take pointe shoe fittings seriously—because the right fit makes all the difference. Whether it’s your first pair or you’ve been dancing en pointe for years, every fitting is customized to your unique feet, technique, and training needs.

1. Personalized Consultation
You'll be fitted by Hannah Grimes, a certified pointe shoe fitter and former dancer with years of experience. She’ll begin by discussing your dance background, training level, and any previous pointe shoe experiences or concerns.

2. Foot & Alignment Assessment
Hannah will examine your feet, toe structure, arches, flexibility, and alignment both seated and standing. This step helps identify the best brands and models for your anatomy and technique.

3. Shoe Selection & Fitting
Based on your assessment, you’ll try on various styles and brands. Hannah will evaluate the fit on and off pointe, checking for proper support, comfort, and alignment. Pads and accessories may also be used to fine-tune the fit.

4. Education & Guidance
You’ll receive guidance on how your shoes should feel, how to care for them, and when it’s time to replace them. Hannah is passionate about educating dancers to promote healthy, confident dancing.

5. A Perfect Fit
We won’t let you leave until you’re in a shoe that fits like Cinderella’s slipper—secure, supportive, and performance-ready.

6. Sewing Services Available
Need help getting your shoes stage-ready? We offer sewing of ribbons and elastic for an additional fee. Let us know at your fitting if you'd like to add this convenient service.
